Safety & Quality
Nobody gets hurt.Nothing gets reworked.
Offshore work punishes shortcuts. Our HSE and QA/QC systems exist so that neither the crew nor the schedule ever pays for one.

Anyone can stop
the job.
Any CHAMS crew member can stop a job — apprentice or supervisor — without needing to justify it first. Nobody has ever been penalised for using that authority, and that is precisely the point.
We hire for attitude to safety as much as for trade skill. New crew are inducted before they touch a tool, mentored by an experienced hand, and assessed on safe working alongside technical output.
“Everyone goes home the way they arrived. That is the only measure of a successful shift that matters.”

Lost-time injuries
across 2025

Four controls that run
on every single scope.
Not aspirations on a poster. These are the gates a job passes through before, during and after mobilisation — the same four whether it is one technician or a forty-strong crew.
- 01
Risk assessed before mobilisation
Every scope gets a written risk assessment and method statement before a single technician boards. High-risk activities carry a permit-to-work signed by the client's authority.
Permit to work - 02
PPE and competency, verified
PPE is checked at the gate, not assumed. Certifications, safety courses and work passes are tracked centrally and blocked at mobilisation if anything has lapsed.
Central register - 03
Toolbox talk every shift
Each shift opens with a talk covering the day's hazards, the simultaneous operations around us, and the stop-work authority every crew member holds without question.
Daily briefing - 04
Measured, reported, reviewed
Near-misses, observations and incidents are logged and reviewed monthly. Leading indicators drive the programme — we do not wait for a lagging one to tell us something is wrong.
Monthly review
Six gates between
drawing and handover.
Quality is not an inspection at the end. It is a sequence of checkpoints, each one signed before the next begins — and each one leaving a document behind.
Handover dossier
Every gate above contributes a signed artefact. Together they form the pack your surveyor needs to sign without a second visit.

Inspection & Test Plan
An ITP is issued for every scope, agreed with the client, and identifies each hold, witness and review point before work starts.

Material verification
Mill certificates, consumable certificates and heat numbers are checked against the specification and recorded before fit-up.

In-process inspection
Fit-up, root, and cap inspections on welded work. Dimensional control against drawing tolerances. Nothing gets covered before it is signed.

Non-destructive testing
Visual, MPI, DPI, UT and RT as the specification demands, carried out by certified technicians with reports issued against each joint.

Function & pressure testing
Hydrostatic, pneumatic, loop-check and function testing witnessed by the client and, where required, the attending class surveyor.

Handover documentation
A complete pack — ITP sign-offs, NDT reports, test certificates, as-built marks and material traceability — issued at completion, not chased afterwards.

Leading indicators
Measured continuously, because they predict. These are what our monthly review actually spends its time on.
- Safety observations raised by crew
- Near-misses reported and closed
- Toolbox talk attendance and topics
- Certification expiry ahead of mobilisation
- Permit-to-work compliance spot checks
Lagging indicators
Reported and audited, but never the first place we look. By the time these move, something has already gone wrong.

Investigate
Root cause, not blame
Every incident and significant near-miss is investigated to root cause — and the finding is written down.
- 02
Update
Procedures change
Findings feed directly into method statements, toolbox topics and induction content within the same month.

Close the loop
Client feedback lands
Post-project reviews are logged and actioned. Repeat findings across projects trigger a process change.

Our systems are audited by third parties, not self-declared. Certificates are available for your vendor registration or tender submission.

What you get
on every contract.
Documentation on handover day
Test packs, NDT reports and as-built marks are issued at completion — never chased weeks afterwards.
Full visibility while we work
Daily progress reporting, open hold points and immediate notification of anything that puts a date at risk.
Stop-work authority respected
If our crew stops a job on safety grounds, you get the reason in writing and a plan to resume — not an argument.
One accountable supervisor
A named CHAMS supervisor owns the scope end to end, including the parts that turn out harder than the drawing suggested.
